Dwelling Place

About Dwelling Place

I created Dwelling Place as a response to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This place is for those who want to go deeper with God and take others along for the journey. Welcome to the community.

Vision

Many stand at the foot of the mountain, never really knowing what it looks like to enter into deep friendship with God. I was that person. I was hungry for God, but I would eventually learn who this Jesus is that we serve.

This came through genuine discipleship, something often lacking in the fast-paced society we live in today. But Jesus paints a different picture, calling His disciples that they might be with Him (Mark 3:14). Imagine what God will do in a community of people who aren’t afraid to commit everything to Him, dwelling together in unity (Psalm 133).

After feeling a stirring from the Lord, I knew I should create Dwelling Place: to gather hungry believers who aren’t afraid to make disciples, put their hand to the plow, and see what God can do when we give Him our full yes.

Family first.

Early on in my ministry journey, the Lord spoke to me loud and clear: “Revival starts in family.” From then on I knew His commission to me would be to build healthy family, in our home and around us wherever we go. It’s something we’ve had to fight for, and it’s precious to the Lord.

Family is one of the things I value most. My marriage to Rebekka and raising our son Judah come first, and I believe ministry flows best from a healthy home.

About Shane.

My greatest desire is to know Jesus and help others do the same. I’ve served in church leadership in the US and abroad, with a passion for unity in the Church, discipleship, and equipping people to hear God for themselves. Rebekka, Judah and I live in Orlando, Florida.

For most of my walk with Christ, I was burdened by a need to constantly grow and develop myself. Then He spoke to me: why don’t you stop striving to earn my affection? Learn to enjoy me. That season changed how I relate to Him. It’s also why I wrote The Sojourn: A 40 Day Journey up the Mountain with God.

Kindle the fire together.

My vision for Dwelling Place is that we would kindle the fires for Jesus together, and get equipped as we learn to hear God in our daily lives.
